Nearly 14 polling centres, 2 schools torched in B'desh ahead of polls

Several polling centres and schools were set on fire in Bangladesh ahead of the general elections. The arson attacks occurred in 10 districts, resulting in no casualties. Earlier incidents of arson targeted five schools that were supposed to be used as polling centres. Miscreants also set fire to polling stations in different parts of the Gazipur and Chittagong districts. The opposition party, Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP), has called for a nationwide 'hartal' to demand the resignation of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina's government.
