Sunday, 7 January 2024 Israeli air strike kills two journalists, Mustafa Thuria and Hamza Wael Dahdouh, in the car. Mustafa is a video stringer for AFP news agency and Hamza is a journalist with Al Jazeera. Hamza's father, Wael al-Dahdouh, is the Gaza bureau chief for Al Jazeera and was previously wounded in an Israeli strike. So far, 77 journalists and media workers have been killed in the war between Israel and Hamas, with the majority being Palestinians. The Hamas government media office condemns the Israeli army's actions and AFP has requested a comment from the Israeli military.
