Taiwan prepares for cyber D-Day in China invasion scenarios

IndiaTimes Thursday, 11 January 2024
China's cyberattacks on Taiwan extend beyond security forces and defense infrastructure, targeting critical sectors like telecommunications, energy, finance, and the semiconductor industry. Last year, Taiwan's TSMC experienced a data breach, highlighting the importance of Taiwan's position in the global high-tech supply chain. The increasing diplomatic and military pressure from China since 2016, along with speculation about an invasion, has prompted Taiwan to prepare for worst-case scenarios, including the possibility of undersea cable cut-offs and the implementation of alternative satellite communication systems.
