Turkey set to approve Sweden's NATO membership bid after long delay

IndiaTimes Tuesday, 23 January 2024
Turkey's parliament is expected to approve Sweden's NATO membership bid, clearing the hurdle for the Western military alliance's expansion. Once ratified, Turkey's President Erdogan will sign it into law, leaving Hungary as the only member state that hasn't approved Sweden's accession. Turkey has maintained better relations with Russia, while also opposing its invasion of Ukraine.
