Former Thai Prime minister Thaksin Shinawatra, who returned to Thailand after 15 years in self-exile, is set to be released from hospital on Sunday, following parole granted earlier this week. Thaksin had a reduced one-year jail term after returning, spending six months in hospital detention due to undisclosed health issues.
