US Coast Guard finds no recoverable oil sheen off Huntington Beach

The US Coast Guard conducted an overflight off the coast of Huntington Beach, California and did not find any remaining recoverable oil sheen. Tar balls were found along the shoreline and will be removed. The source of the sheen is under investigation. A separate potential spill of produced water is not believed to be related to the sheen. This incident follows a previous oil spill in 2021.
