China passes law granting Communist Party more control over cabinet

China's parliament has approved changes to a law that will give the Communist Party more control over the country's cabinet, the State Council. This move comes after the premier's post-parliament news conference was canceled for the first time in 30 years. The amended State Council Organic Law was passed with a majority of delegate votes during the National People's Congress in Beijing.
