Body camera video shows fatal shooting of Black airman by Florida deputy in apartment doorway
Friday, 10 May 2024 A Florida sheriff on Thursday unveiled body camera footage depicting a deputy stationed outside an apartment door. Upon its opening by a Black man with a handgun pointed downward, the deputy fired immediately, resulting in the man's death—a incident the family condemned as "unjustifiable." Okaloosa County Sheriff Eric Aden presented the video hours after a news conference.
On Friday, May 3 a Florida deputy responded to a domestic violence call. Arriving at the apartment complex the deputy was met by the woman who'd made the call, who directed him to apartment 1401, in which she believed the violence to be occurring.
