Soaring temperatures scorch pilgrims on Haj in Saudi Arabia

Pilgrims faced extreme heat at the annual Haj pilgrimage in Mecca, where temperatures soared to 51.8 degrees Celsius (125.2 Fahrenheit) in the shade near the Grand Mosque, as reported by Saudi state TV on Tuesday. Six Jordanian citizens succumbed to heat stroke during the Haj, according to the Jordanian foreign ministry.
