The Kilauea volcano spewed lava 100 metres into the air on Tuesday, putting on a spectacular show on the Island of Hawaii, also referred to as the Big Island, while thankfully not posing a threat to residential areas.

Kilauea Volcano erupted again, sending lava columns up to 80 meters high above Hawaii's Big Island. The eruption began at 2:00 AM local time, with molten lava bombs and gas plumes reaching 6,000-8,000 feet above sea level. The volcanic smog, or "vog," created by sulfur dioxide emissions, poses health risks to people and animals.
