A magnitude 5.2 earthquake struck Southern California on Tuesday night, with its epicentre near Mettler in Kern County. It was widely felt across the region, including Los Angeles. The initial shock was followed by strong aftershocks. No significant damage or injuries were reported. The quake was the strongest in the region in three years.
