More than 1,000 arrested following UK riots, police say

British authorities arrested over 1,000 people following days of rioting sparked by misinformation about the killings of three girls in Southport. The unrest, involving violence, arson, and racist attacks, spread across England and Northern Ireland. Swift judicial actions led to many being jailed. The National Police Chiefs' Council reported 1,024 arrests and 575 charges across the UK.
