New mpox strain outside Africa: 1st case in Sweden

Sweden reported its first case of the Clade 1b subclade of mpox outside Africa, as the nation's public health agency announced. The patient was infected during a visit to a heavily impacted area in Africa. The European Centre for Disease Prevention and Control maintains the risk to the general population in Europe is very low.
