Iranian hackers group targeted WhatsApp accounts of Biden, Trump officials: Meta

Meta reported detecting a hacking campaign targeting WhatsApp accounts of US officials from both the Biden and Trump administrations. The attacks, attributed to Iranian hacker group APT42, involved masquerading as technical support for online services like Google and AOL. Meta blocked the attempts and found no evidence of successful breaches.
