Munich police kill an armed man during an exchange of fire near a museum and the Israeli Consulate
Thursday, 5 September 2024 () Police in Munich exchanged fire with a man in an area near a museum on the cit''s Nazi-era history and the Israeli Consulate on Thursday, fatally wounding the suspect.
Emrah I, an 18-year-old Austrian with Bosnian roots, was killed in a shootout with Munich police. Authorities suspect he planned a terror attack on the Israeli consulate with an antique gun with a bayonet attached to it.
Israelβs Foreign Ministry said the consulate in Munich was closed when the shooting occurred and that no consulate staff had been affected by the incident.
