Spain to grant asylum to Venezuelan opposition leader Edmundo Gonzalez Urrutia

Spain's foreign minister confirmed that asylum will be provided to Venezuelan opposition leader Edmundo Gonzalez Urrutia. After challenging President Maduro's re-election and facing an arrest warrant, Gonzalez sought refuge in the Spanish embassy in Caracas. He left Venezuela on a Spanish military aircraft, with safe passage granted by the Maduro government for political peace.
