Peru's former president Alberto Fujimori passes away after battle with cancer

Alberto Fujimori, former President of Peru, has died at age 86 after a long battle with cancer. His presidency from 1990 to 2000 included economic reforms and defeating guerrilla violence but ended in corruption scandal. Later, he fled to Japan and faxed his resignation. In 2009, he was sentenced to prison for human rights crimes.
