Monday, 23 September 2024 Jackson said Elmasri does not represent her and the apology statement has no connection with Elmasri. Elmasri told the Daily Beast that he was fired due to disagreements over this particular issue. He said he was flooded with phone calls after Jackson denied the apology statement but he maintained "all support to Kamala Harris".
