Nepal Floods: Death Toll Rises To 112 As Rain Triggered Landslides Wreak Havoc, Dozens Missing
Sunday, 29 September 2024 The death toll in the Nepal floods has risen to 112, according to the Armed Police Force and Nepal Police database. Dozens of people are still missing in the landslide and flooding triggered by torrential rainfall in the country.
Torrential rain causes the Bagmati river in Nepal's capital Kathmandu to swell, inundating houses and cars close to its banks. Floods and landslides caused by the heavy downpours have killed at least 10 people across the Himalayan country.
The UN is warning that as many as 630,000 people could be in need of assistance in Myanmar in the wake of Typhoon Yagi.
