200 Bangladeshis abducted during Hasina regime still missing: Inquiry

IndiaTimes Tuesday, 5 November 2024
A commission investigating enforced disappearances in Bangladesh has reported that around 200 people abducted during former Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina's rule remain missing. The commission discovered secret detention centers and evidence suggesting efforts to conceal them. They attribute the disappearances to abuses by security forces, particularly the Rapid Action Battalion, and systemic failures within the government and judiciary.
