Iran man charged with plotting Trump assassination tasked with targeting Israeli tourists in Sri Lanka: US

The FBI has charged Iranian national and Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps operative Farhad Shakeri with plotting to assassinate former President Donald Trump and orchestrate attacks on Israeli tourists in Sri Lanka. Shakeri, currently a fugitive believed to be in Tehran, was allegedly tasked with organizing a mass shooting in October 2024.
