Russia accused of escalating hybrid attacks in Europe after telecoms cables cut
Tuesday, 19 November 2024 () Russia has been accused by European governments of escalating hybrid attacks on Ukraine's Western allies after two fibre-optic telecommunication cables in the Baltic Sea were severed.
Sir Keir Starmer urged Vladimir Putin to "get out of Ukraine" as he addressed the G20 summit in Rio, Brazil, on Tuesday. It comes as Mr Starmer has refused to comment on whether Britain will allow Ukraine to fire Storm Shadow missiles into Russia following reports that Joe Biden is on the verge of giving the green light for the British-made weapons to be used.
