Syrian man crushed to death attempting to cross Channel on small boat
Saturday, 11 January 2025 A Syrian man has been crushed to death trying to cross the Channel from France in a small boat, the AFP news agency has reported.

The attack took place two days before snap parliamentary elections in Germany in which migration has become a top issue, pushed to the forefront by five deadly attacks involving immigrants over the past nine months.
