UK minister linked to Hasina graft probe quits govt
Tuesday, 14 January 2025 () Tulip Siddiq, the British minister for financial services, resigned amidst scrutiny over financial ties to her aunt, ex-Bangladeshi PM Sheikh Hasina, accused of corruption. Although cleared of breaching conduct codes, Siddiq stepped down to avoid distracting government work. She was linked to a major fraud investigation in Bangladesh involving infrastructure funds. Emma Reynolds has been appointed as her replacement.
