US department sues Houston county for discrimination against black voters

The US Justice Department has sued Houston County, Georgia, alleging its election system discriminates against Black voters. The lawsuit targets the countywide election of commissioners, which they claim prevents Black candidates from winning. The County commissioners are investigating the allegations.
