Israel's UN ambassador tells security council UNWRA has 48 hours left

IndiaTimes Tuesday, 28 January 2025
Israel’s ambassador to the UN, Danny Danon, announced that Israel will cease cooperation with the UN relief and works agency (UNRWA) within 48 hours. This decision follows evidence that UNRWA employed Hamas terrorists, including those involved in the October 7 massacre. A new Israeli law, effective January 30, bans UNRWA operations in Israel, prohibiting contact and activities by the agency in Israeli territories. Danon criticized the organization for failing to address Hamas infiltration.
