Hungary's Orban predicts Trump will bring Russia back into Western fold after end of Ukraine war
Friday, 14 February 2025 () Hungarian prime minister Viktor Orban stated that if US President Donald Trump brokers peace in Ukraine, Russia could be reintegrated into the Western economy, energy networks, and security system. Speaking on state radio, Orban praised Trump’s shift in approach and called it a "Trump tornado." He criticized EU sanctions on Russia and warned that the bloc could collapse if energy prices remain high.
