France fatal knife attack suspect is 'Islamist extremist with conviction for glorifying terrorism'
Saturday, 22 February 2025 () Four people have been arrested after a man was killed and seven police officers wounded in a knife attack in eastern France which has been linked to Islamic extremism.

The suspect was arrested by the police. According to the public prosecutor, the suspect, a 37-year-old man, was already known to the authorities and had been on a terrorism watchlist.

A deadly knife attackrocked eastern France, leaving one civilian dead and several police officers injured. French President Emmanuel Macron condemned the incident, calling it an "Islamist terror act." The attacker, a 37-year-old on a terror watchlist, reportedly shouted "Allahu Akbar" during the assault before being arrested. France's national anti-terror prosecutors (PNAT) have taken charge of the investigation. This attack comes just a day after a similar 'Islamist terrorist' stabbing incident in Germany.
