The captain of the Solong cargo ship who was arrested after crashing into an oil tanker in the North Sea off the coast of East Yorkshire is a Russian national, according to the ship's owner.
Police have opened a criminal investigation into the crash and arrested a 59-year-old man on suspicion of gross negligence manslaughter.
One man is missing, presumed dead, following the incident.

The missing sailor who disappeared after the tanker collision in the North Sea is "presumed dead". Speaking in the House of Commons on Tuesday, Maritime minister Mike Kane said: "Our working assumption is that - very sadly - that the sailor is deceased."
