Video posted on Instagram shows Colin Kaepernick working out in preparation for Saturday's special workout audition hosted by the NFL.
This is the day the former NFL quarterback has been waiting for ever since he failed to get picked up by any team starting in 2017.
Various media outlets have reported that 11 NFL teams are in Atlanta to see if Kaepernick still has the goods, opening the possibility that Kaepernick could return to the gridiron.
Kaepernick was one of the first players to adopt the controversial practice of kneeling during the U.S. national anthem to protest a number of deaths of unarmed black men and women at the hands of police.
He filed a collusion grievance against NFL owners in October 2017, claiming he was being punished for his outspoken advocacy.
The two sides settled the grievance with a confidential agreement earlier this year.
Kaepenick's audition is not without controversy.
The workout is being held on a Saturday, which is highly unusual for the NFL, since most teams are traveling in preparation for Sunday match-ups, leading to some to wonder it the audition is just a PR stunt by the NFL.
