The solution they suggested was unacceptable in any case and I told the club that I wanted to continue and asked them to reincorporate me to my job position, that, to my eyes, I haven't done anything to be pulled away, from my point of view, and that I wanted to be with my players and staff as soon as possible to prepare for the match we had on Tuesday and give our best performance." STORY: Sacked Malaga coach Victor Sanchez del Amo said on Wednesday (January 15) he was victim of harassment and blackmail over an explicit video of him.

Second-tier Spanish soccer team Malaga sacked Sanchez del Amo on Sunday (January 12) four days after suspending him following the release of the video on social media.

The club said in a statement that they had been unable to agree to a mutual parting with the coach.

They said the incident had seriously damaged the club.

"Malaga took this decision in consideration of the serious harm the recent non-sporting events have done to the club, with the aim of minimising their impact on the team and the whole organisation of Malaga." The 43-year-old ex-Spain midfielder Sanchez del Amo has said he was the victim of harassment and blackmail.

"I have suffered a crime of violation of my right to privacy with harassment, extortion which was done through the recording of images without my consent," he told a news conference.

A 41-year-old man was detained on Friday for illegally sharing the video online, Spanish police said, adding that the man was released after questioning.

The police said they are investigating Sanchez del Amo's allegation of blackmail.

Malaga, who reached the quarter-finals of the Champions League in 2013, are 16th in the second division standings after 22 matches, a point above the relegation zone.
