A snake wrangler impressed locals when he calmly caught a king cobra with his bare hands.

Wutthichai Permsuk - also wearing a head-camera in the video - was called to the home in Trang, southern Thailand on July 12 evening after the family notice the snake.

Resident Theeraphan Nilwong watched as the ice-cool rescue worker reached down behind a shoe rack and grabbed the venomous reptile with one hand.

Wutthichai said he has been catching snakes since he was a child and was happy to be able to help the family.

He said: "It's very rewarding and satisfying to be able to help people by removing snakes from their homes.''
