Family flees blaze near their home as California wildfire rages

A wildfire north of Los Angeles led to hundreds of evacuations after growing rapidly on Wednesday (August 12).

Kate Savage, the filmer, told Newsflare: "Yes we were evacuated at 5:30 last night.

We’re now staying with family near Oxnard." According to local media, Lake fire broke out just after 3:30 pm local time and burned over 10,000 acres within three hours.

The Southern California wildfire issued evacuation orders for around 100 homes and other buildings.
