And at this hour, "police" are still searching "for the suspect" in that case.

Spoke with the family.

/////// ////// richar} it's scary to imagine someone abducting your child right from your own home.

But that's what one local family says happened to their daughter.

Madeline was abducted while standing right here on her front porch.

Her parents say they never would've thought this could happen so close to home.

Crystal mathers lawson and gary lawson say this happened monday.

Their 2 daughters were home alone doing school work online.

Madeline stepped outside to check the mail..

That's when her mother crystal says the unthinkable happened.

Madeline was taken from behind and thrown in the trunk of what police say is a chevy model vehicle.

Crystal told me madeline was able to escape by pulling the emergency trunk release.

Crystal says this is something that families experience too often without people realizing it... police say they're still looking for this person.

But they're just thankful..her daughter's home safely.

"you definitely have a different take on...i mean they could be gone in a minute and the minute that you don't think the minute that you don't look.

It's hard to explain how you feel at times i feel mad and angry at times i feel sad.
