Lucie County.

The school year is bringing some new safety protocols and procedures because of the coronavirus pandemic.

ACCORDING TO THEDISTRICT SUPERINTENDENT 53PERCENT OF STUDENTS OPTED FORONLINE LEARNING TO START THESCHOOL YEAR.SUPERINTENDENT WAYNE GENTSPOKE THIS MORNINGACKNOWLEDGING THERECOUPLE OF BUMPS THE FIRST FEWDAYS OF SCHOOL AND ASKEDPARENTS TO BE PATIENT.DISTRICT LEADERS POSTED AMESSAGE ON THEIR FACEBOOK PAGEEARLIER TODAY NOTIFYINGPARENTS AND STUDENTS OF SOMENETWORK SLOWDOWN ISSUES WITHTHE ONLINE LEARNING SYSTEM.THE STATEMENT WENT ON TO SAYDISTRICT TECHNICAL SUPPORT ISWORKING TO REMEDY THE ISSUE.PARENTS WE SPOKE WITH SAY THEYHOPE A FIX COMES QUICK.IAND I BELIEVE THE SYSTEMFAILED FOR THE PARENTS AND IBELIEVE THEY COULDMORE ORGANIZED THEY HAD PLENTYOF TIME TO BE MORE ORGANIZEDAND THEY HAVE NOTTHE DISTRICT TELLS ME WHATTHIS PARENT AND OTHERSEXPERIENCED IS NOT A SOFTWAREOR LAPTOP ISSUE.
