Two men fall five stories when scaffolding gave way

Safety equipment saved two men who fell five stories when the scaffolding they were on gave way in the middle, according to Lexington Police.

They say it happened in downtown Lexington on Wednesday night.

Neither man was injured.

They were rescued by Lexington firefighters.

Two men fell about five stories from scaffolding.

Lexington police say they got a call around 8:30 about two men dangling from scaffolding at the chase bank building across from the government center on east main street.

When officers arrived they say they saw the two hanging from safety rigging.

Police shut down martin luther king...and main and called firefighters...who were able to get the men safely down.

They later told officers the scaffolding broke in the center...causing their fall...but luckily, neither one was injured.
