COVID-19 made us realise importance of strong public health systems: Harsh Vardhan

During ministerial meeting on Universal Health Coverage, Union Health Minister, Harsh Vardhan said that COVID-19 has made us realise the importance of strong public health systems. "In 2019, UNGA adopted a declaration on Universal Health Coverage which India aims to make a reality for citizens," said Harsh Vardhan.

He further added, "COVID-19 has made us realise the importance of strong public health systems. We need to integrate public health surveillance and data sharing in the primary and secondary health care, spurred by design reforms to expand and build IT enabled disease monitoring systems.
