Footage shows the monkey sitting atop a lifebuoy, attached to a lifeboat with rope, being hauled safely to the river bank.
According to local reports, the monkey became stranded while looking for food.
On spotting the animal, members from the flood relief team, also known as 32 Brigade PAC Lucknow, and the local water police, Jal Police Ayodhya, rushed to its rescue.
After an hour of effort, four men from the 32 Brigade PAC Lucknow team brought the animal to safety.
