Shocking videos show a large scale fire involving around 8,000 scrap tyres at a go-kart track that broke out in the early hours of this morning (Mon).
Around 100 firefighters in 15 engines were still on the scene tackling the blaze this morning as three schools in the area were forced to close.
Images from the scene show thick plumes of black smoke filling the air and flames rising high into the night sky as the inferno raged overnight.
The blaze, in the East Bowling area of the Bradford, West Yorks., began at about 3am, fire chiefs said.
There are no reports of any casualties.
Travel has been plunged into chaos as rail services into Bradford Interchange have been cancelled or diverted and roads in the area have been closed.
Bradford Council said Bronte Girls Academy, Rainbow Primary and Dixons City Academy would be closed on following advice from the fire service.
West Yorkshire Fire and Rescue Service has told people living nearby to keep their windows closed "due to the large amount of smoke".
A spokesman for the service said: "West Yorkshire Fire and Rescue Service are currently in attendance at a large fire on Upper Castle Street, Bradford.
"We were called at 03.09 hours this morning, 16th November, to reports of a fire in the East Bowling area of Bradford.
"We currently have 15 fire engines and two aerial ladder platforms in attendance - there are around 100 fire fighters and WYFRS officers on the scene.
"All persons are accounted for.
"This is a multi-agency response, and we are working alongside West Yorkshire Police, Network Rail, and other partners." Train operator Northern Rail tweeted: "A large fire at a go-kart track next to the railway at Bradford Interchange is on fire.
"Around 8,000 tyres and railway equipment are at risk from the fire which is around 50m from the railway."
