The Medford School District teamed up with Sodexo to hand out winter break meal kits to families in need.

Today the medford school district made sure students and families had meals for the rest of winter break.

Hundreds of cars lined up at north medford high school to pick up winter break meal kits.

The school district teamed up with sodexo to hand them out.

Each family gets one bag per student.

Last week, sodexo handed out around 14-hundred meal kits.

Officials say their goal is to make sure families won't go hungry while students aren't in class.

"it's really sad to see how great of a need there is, but it's also really amazing see that sodexo and all these hard working people provide meals for these people that need it.

Obviously, we hope to help as many people with meals as we can."
