New Gov Diet Guidelines: Cut The Fat, Salt, Booze
The US Department of Agriculture and the Department of Health and Human Services released new dietary guidelines on Tuesday.
The guidelines are updated every five years and govern what's served in federal nutrition programs. UPI reports the Dietary Guidelines Advisory Committee recommend that Americans reduce salt and saturated fat levels in their diet.
What's more, the panel suggested the government revise its definition of 'moderate drinking' for me from two drinks per day down to one.
As for sugar consumption, the panel continues to advise people to not consume more than 10 percent of their calories from added sugars.
