BSF DG Visits Petrapole Border in West Bengal as Trade and Movement get Restricted| Oneindia

Since August 5, the Petrapole border between India and Bangladesh has been under tight security with reduced movement of people and goods. The increased measures are in response to ongoing unrest in Bangladesh. Despite the overall decline in trade, the border has facilitated the entry of several Bangladeshis into India for medical treatment. The unrest has led to a near-total halt in trade, impacting traders significantly. Border Security Force (BSF) Director General DS Chaudhary has visited the site, and on Tuesday, some Bangladeshis and Indians stranded in each other's countries managed to return home. #TightSecurity #TradeDisruptions #PetrapoleBorder #BangladeshUnrest #INDIA-BANGLADESHBORDER ~ED.101~PR.152~

Bangladesh Protests Trigger Night Curfew in Meghalaya—State Secures Border with 12-Hour Lockdown

In a swift response to the escalating unrest in Bangladesh, Meghalaya has imposed a night curfew along its international border, effective immediately from 6 pm to 6 am daily. This measure restricts movement within a 200-meter zone of the Indian side of the border to address potential security threats. With nine battalions of the Border Security Force (BSF) already deployed, the state government is prepared to send additional forces if necessary. Deputy Chief Minister Prestone Tynsong announced the curfew following a high-level meeting with key officials, including the DIG BSF and the Director General of Police. Covering a 444 km stretch of the border, the curfew reflects the state’s commitment to maintaining security and stability amid the turmoil across the border. #bangladeshprotests #MeghalayaCurfew #NightCCurfewMeghalaya #BangladeshProtestsUpdate #SheikhHasinaDelhi #AjitDoval #AjitDovalMeetsSheikhHasina #SheikhHasinaLandsinDelhi #SheikhHasinaHindonAirports #SheikhMujiburRahmanStatue #MujiburRahmanStatueVandalised #bangladeshnews #sheikhhasina #bangladeshnewsupdate #studentprotest #bangladeshantigovtprotests #bangladeshjobquotaprotest #bangladeshreservation #latestnews #breakingnews ~PR.152~ED.102~HT.334~

Bangladesh Protests: Sheikh Mujibur Rahman's Statue Vandalised By Protesters as Sheikh Hasina Flees

In a dramatic escalation of unrest in Bangladesh, thousands of protesters defied a curfew and stormed Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina’s official residence in Dhaka following reports of her resignation and departure from the country. The surge of violence and public anger marks one of the most severe crises in Bangladesh’s recent history. Storming the Palace, Jubilant crowds, who had been gathering in defiance of the curfew, broke through the gates of Sheikh Hasina’s residence early Monday morning. The scenes of protesters waving flags and celebrating in the streets starkly contrasted with the government’s attempts to control the situation. Despite barricades and barbed wire set up by soldiers and police, vast numbers of demonstrators flooded the streets, tearing down barriers and overwhelming security measures. The protesters' ire was further demonstrated by the vandalism of a statue of Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, the father of Sheikh Hasina and former President of Bangladesh. This act of desecration added to the day's chaos, reflecting the deep-seated anger towards the government. #bangladeshprotests #SheikhMujiburRahmanStatue #MujiburRahmanStatueVandalised #bangladeshnews #sheikhhasina #bangladeshnewsupdate #studentprotest #bangladeshantigovtprotests #bangladeshjobquotaprotest #bangladeshreservation #latestnews #breakingnews ~HT.178~PR.152~ED.194~GR.125~
