'If your work is authentic, it pays off': Sumitra Mahajan on being conferred with Padma Bhushan
Speaking to media in Madhya Pradesh's Indore on January 25, former Lok Sabha (LS) Speaker Sumitra Mahajan spoke on her Padma Bhushan award.
Mahajan said, "I am surprised over why I am being given the Padma Bhushan award.
I have always worked to the best of my ability in all the roles and maybe that is the reason." "All I can say is if your work is authentic, it pays off," she added.
The annual Kanwar Yatra, a Hindu pilgrimage dedicated to Lord Shiva, begins as millions of devotees embark on a sacred journey across central India. Kanwariyas, as the pilgrims are known, travel on foot to collect holy water from the Ganges River, carrying it back to local Shiva temples. This month-long event, concentrated in states like Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, and Uttar Pradesh, sees devotees seeking blessings for health, prosperity, and spiritual purification through their arduous trek and ritualistic offerings.
