Watch: Amit Shah's orders after violence at farmer rally; Opposition reacts

Union Home Minister Amit Shah met with senior officials from the Home Ministry to take stock of the law and order situation in the national capital, following intense clashes between protesting farmers and Delhi police that even reached the Red Fort.

The home minister ordered additional forces in Delhi.

This comes after the Ministry ordered the suspension of internet services at Delhi's border points - Singhu, Ghazipur, Tikri, Mukarba Chowk, Nangloi and areas adjoining these protest hubs due to the tense security situation in the national capital.

Earlier, wielding sticks and clubs and holding the tricolour and union flags, tens of thousands of farmers atop tractors broke barriers, clashed with police and entered the city from various points to lay siege to the Red Fort and climb the flagpole on Republic Day on Tuesday.

A protesting farmer died after his tractor overturned at ITO during the farmers’ tractor parade on Tuesday, police said.

AFSPA Reimposed in Manipur’s 6 Police Stations: Insurgency Intensifies & Violence Surges in Villages

The Indian government has reimposed the Armed Forces Special Powers Act (AFSPA) in six police station areas of Manipur, as the state's security situation deteriorates. Citing a "volatile" environment and increasing insurgent activity, the Ministry of Home Affairs has extended AFSPA to regions severely affected by ethnic violence. Despite the deployment of additional paramilitary forces, violence continues to spiral, with clashes between militants and security forces claiming hundreds of lives over the past 18 months. In this video, we explore the implications of this decision, the ongoing unrest, and whether AFSPA can restore peace or fuel further conflict in the region. #Manipur #AFSPA #Insurgency #IndianArmy #EthnicViolence #SecurityForces #MilitaryAction #ManipurViolence #AFSPAManipur #HomeMinistry #DisturbedAreas #IndiaUnrest #ManipurCrisis #ViolenceInManipur #InsurgentGroups #RestoringOrder ~PR.274~ED.103~HT.336~GR.125~
