Following Assad's ousting by rebel forces, the U.S. military launched over 75 airstrikes targeting ISIS camps and key infrastructure across Syria, aiming to prevent the terrorist group from exploiting the power vacuum created by Assad's departure. Biden has emphasized the importance of combating terrorism and ensuring ISIS does not re-establish its stronghold in the region. The U.S. has also vowed to support efforts for a peaceful transition in Syria, while continuing to monitor and neutralize any emerging threats.
