NBC reports that communities across the Midwest
have been devastated by days of flooding,
with more storms forecast to hit later in the week.
Recovery efforts and evacuations are taking place amid
an extreme heat wave, with temperatures exceeding
100 degrees Fahrenheit predicted in some impacted areas.

without power from the storms,

been classified as being in a major flood stage,
with at least two other rivers expected to join them. .

Minnesota, is at risk of "imminent failure.".
At the same time, FEMA teams have
been dispatched to six counties in Iowa
that have been impacted by flooding. .
