Minister announces plan to support prisoners on release
Prisons minister Lucy Frazer has announced a plan to support criminals as they are released from prison in a bid to reduce reoffending and ensure they have suitable housing.

Sir Keir Starmer urged Vladimir Putin to "get out of Ukraine" as he addressed the G20 summit in Rio, Brazil, on Tuesday. Thousands of farmers descended on Westminster on Tuesday to protest against the inheritance tax changes for farming businesses introduced in last month’s Budget. The changes mean inheritance tax of 20% will apply to combined agricultural and business property worth more than £1 million. Home Secretary Yvette Cooper has announced additional funding to the police force, as she set out plans to overhaul the work of forces in England and Wales. In a speech on Tuesday, Ms Cooper said "direct central government funding" for policing will increase by over half a billion pounds by next year. Steve Reed has defended the government's decision to introduce inheritance tax on farms worth over £1 million.
