Thousands protested across Poland on Thursday as government put into effect a ruling banning terminations of pregnancies with foetal defects, which amounts to a near total abortion ban.
Huge crowds turned out to protest in the Polish capital, Warsaw, against a near-total ban on abortion, making it one of the largest demonstrations seen in the country in decades.
