Farmer protest: Govt's offer as politicians back renewed stir; more security

Days after violence and vandalism on Republic Day adversely hit the farmer protests, Rakesh Tikait's emotional call has renewed the stir at Delhi's Ghazipur border.

Massive security arrangements were seen at the protest sites.

Meanwhile, Opposition politicians offered support to the protests with INLD's Abhay Chautala joining the Ghazipur stir.

He had quit as Haryana MLA on January 27 to show support to the farmers.

A day earlier, Aam Aadmi Party and Rashtriya Lok Dal leaders had also visited the protest site.

Meanwhile, the government said that its offer of holding the farm laws in abeyance for a year and a half still stands.
