While addressing a press conference in the national capital on February 09, the Union Cabinet Minister for Education, Ramesh Pokhriyal Nishank spoke on Uttarakhand glacier disaster.
Pokhriyal said, "Teams of Indian Army, NDRF, ITBP and SDRF are working day-night amid challenging situations to rescue people.
Saving lives is the biggest challenge right now.

Tragedy struck in Jammu and Kashmir’s Poonch district on Tuesday evening when an Indian Army vehicle plunged into a 300-feet gorge along the Line of Control (LoC), resulting in the deaths of five soldiers. The incident occurred when the Army vehicle, belonging to the 11 Maratha Light Infantry, was en route from Nilam headquarters to Balnoi Ghora Post. The vehicle fell into the gorge, leaving 10 soldiers, including the driver, severely injured.
